I'm back again....  Shocked

We're planning to go to Kauai next weekend. We arrive on Friday morning and leave on Sunday, after lunch. Haven't been to Kauai for over 3 decades. Don't remember much. We're going to the Waialua River and take the boat tour to the Fern Grotto. Hanging around Lihue and Kapaa for the rest of the day. I wanted to go to the Waimea Canyon, but it's on the other side of the island. Probably take 1/2 day.  Nope.  I dunno?.

Don't really want to see beaches, but Maybe Poipu Beach and Glass Beach.  We'll eat at local eateries and bypass the resort ones. Friends recommended the BBQ Inn, Hamura's Saimin, Tip Top Motel Café & Bakery, Waipoulu Deli & Restaurant, Da Imu Hut Café, and maybe Bull Shed ($$$$). Any other sights or eating places you can suggest?.

Kauai was chilly and windy. Hamura's Saimin, BBQ Inn and Tip Top Café were fantastic. I did get to see Waimea Canyon, Poipu Beach, and Kauai Drag Strip. Saturday morning sunrise was terrific!. Some of the hotel staff were also taking pictures.
