Windy.  I dunno how hard the head wind was, but it was enough to keep me in the high 90s and 15-ohs...  Was hoping the mid day run would get me a personal best, but not on this day.  Oh well...  went out in the thrid round due to bad reaction times again.  Guess that's what happens when I don;t practice enough...  Oh well.  here's the carnage for the day.

Q1) .689 - 2.104 - 9.592 @ 71.90 - 15.011 @ 88.55

Q2) .612 - 2.089 - 9.539 @ 73.65 - 14.936 @ 88.79

R1) .714 - 2.114 - 9.569 @ 75.51 - 14.989 @ 88.37 (Bye Run - Competition Broke)

R2) .519 - 2.095 - 9.549 @ 75.50 - 14.995 @ 83.52 (Winner by .0812 on the brakes)

R3) .624  2.126 - 9.598 @ 74.00 - 15.009 @ 88.62 (Loser by .0389)

All in all, it was a great day.  I enjoyed racing again, and can't wait until we can do it again.  Will be out next weekend testing and tuning some new brake stuffs that I'll install this week sometime.  Hope to see you all there! look fullmoon

I know it's taken by our track anouncer, but should we start calling Chad in his nicknames "Da Surfer-2"?  Due to his "Right turn Clide"  time run.

You mean it wasn't a Drift Session??  Well crap, why didn't didn't somone tell me! pat

Here's the story for those that missed it...

1st run today I managed to get boost up to the 10# area out of the hole and was rewarded with a 1.37 60' in the Tower lane. Car carried the front tires about 30' out and when it came down it got a little out of shape and started moving a little to the left.  I started to correct (I'm getting really bad about lifting) and she was coming back when from outta the blue WHAM she hooks to the right HARD.  Kev and Rick were back at the line and said they could see the entire passenger door.  A little peddling and correcting and I got lucky about 10' before hitting the right wall.  Shiney side stayed up, didn't hit anything, and the 3 people in the stands got a cool show... can't really complain!

I wasn't going 135... probably more like 80 (was a bit before 1/2 track).  I wasn't scared so much as pissed off that what could have been a killer run had to be aborted.  I was tempted to pack it up when I got back but wasnt gonna let the "horse" throw me like that!  YOU belong to ME, BIOTCH!!!

that's the attitude, chad!  kinda reminds me about labor day when bob piled into the guardrail on the first burnout of the weekend...front end was toast! we all worked on the car in the pits, and with a ghetto alignment check and adjustment, and lots of sheetmetal and duct tape for the fiberglass front end, we were back out on the track in a little more than an hour....

just like breaking a new pony... you need to show IT who's boss.....

I was waiting for Chad to post that up...  I didn't wanna spoil it.  Not to take anything away from Chad - that was some flat out awesome driving, bro - but that just gave me the biggest chicken skin I've ever had.  Like he said...  the launch was beautiful.  Pulled the wheels an easy 12" off the ground and carried them at least 30'.  All looked good and I was almost jumping up and donw on the line cuz I knew it was a killer run.  As soon as it started drifing and not coming back, I got chills...  when he crossed the centerline and headed for the guardrail, my heart flat out stopped.

Seeing one of your best friends come close to wrecking his car is not something I wanna see again.  As cool as that was, buddy...  don't do it again! Shocked

i know the feeling, rick.. not a pretty one, is it?  when i seen bob get crooked on that burnout labor day weekend and the car snap left, all i could say was "ahhh, fuck!".. he hit the wall about 30 feet ahead of the position i was in (on the outside of the guardrail, waiting to back him up after the burnout).. not something i would like to see again.  then again, that pretty much goes for any racer/car i've seen wreck down here.. in fact, i still have the original (and only, i believe, besides the copy tommy gave directly to naka via my camera) tape of Naka wrecking his car at the hilo track a couple years ago... that sucked.
